"Tempted" Episodes 18-22 (cont.)

Summoned by Caleb’s music and voice, Livvie performs her assigned task, appearing as “Anne Marie” and thereby helping Caleb break up two couples--Eve and Ian as well as her own father and Lucy.    After doing her duty for Caleb, Livvie, still disguised as Anne Marie, enters the cave.

“I did everything you asked,” she announces in the flat, mournful British accent she adopts as Anne Marie.

“I’m very pleased.  You gave an excellent performance,” he praises her. “But next time, try and enjoy yourself a little more.”

As she walks towards Caleb’s voice, she slowly unwraps the scarf partially shrouding her face and in the process sheds her assumed identity.  Livvie once again, she stares into the dark cavern, her face blank and almost lifeless.

“You deserve some fun, too, my love, ” Caleb says soothingly.
While Caleb and Livvie  meet at the cave, the Port Charles residents are busy ensnaring themselves ever deeper in Caleb’s web of deception. Chris’ greedy ambition and the distrust brewing between the loving couples compel Caleb’s enemies to persist in their predictable vices.  Having developed his vampire serum, Chris is ready to inject himself with it when Karen interrupts his plans.  As the two struggle, Chris accidentally injects Karen instead.     Unnerved by his visit from “Anne Marie,” Kevin is even more determined to investigate Ian’s past.   After leaving a message for Eve on her answering machine, Kevin heads over to the apartment she shares with Ian and lets himself in so he can snoop around.  Jack, likewise, cannot seem to avoid snooping and prying.  Suspicious about Livvie’s puzzling behavior, Jack calls the sanitarium where Livvie was supposedly visiting her mother and discovers that she had not arrived.

Caleb watches as Livvie sleeps on his bed of silk pillows.  Calmly leaning on his elbow, he gazes down upon his bride and unknowing accomplice.  “Your father didn’t even recognize you, Olivia.  He sat and listened as you masqueraded as Anne Marie and he believed you,” Caleb murmurs.  “No one will ever suspect you, my love.  And they’re never going to know what hits them.”

“Caleb?” Livvie inquires as she awakes.

“I’m right here, Sweetheart,” he reassures her.
“I just had a terrible nightmare,” she says sadly.

“Shh,” Caleb whispers, his fingers to his mouth.

“I can’t remember.  God, I can never remember,” Livvie sighs.
