"You think you're a vampire?" Jack answers, angry and confused.

"You're a smart boy, Jack," Caleb smiles.

"I don't know what kinds of games you're playing here, but I'm not interested," Jack seethes.  "So stay the hell away. I've got to find Livvie help."  Jack looks at Livvie, still unconscious on the ground after tripping over a branch or rock.

"You're not taking her anywhere," Caleb says quietly.  "She's fine."

"You can't know that," Jack angrily protests.

"I know everything about her," Caleb assures him

"You're crazy," Jack yells.  "Stay the hell way from her."

"I'm afraid that's not going to happen, Jack.  You see, Olivia is my destiny.  And she's going to be my bride."

"Stay away from her or I'll kill you," Jack persists.

"Did you forget the part about me being a vampire? " Caleb asks.  "You can't kill me."

When Jack continues to call Caleb "insane," Caleb bares his fangs again, saying "Is that enough proof for you?"

"That's a nice trick," Jack stubbornly argues, still refusing to believe the validity of his senses.

"You're a tough sale, Jack.  Truth be told, you could be one too."

"What?" Jack says, growing more frightened.

Smiling seductively, Caleb then begins to remind Jack of what happened between them in the woods.

"A little bedtime story for you," Caleb teasingly relates.  "Once upon a time there was this boy named Jack.  And he took his girlfriend camping in the woods.  Jack went to look for firewood.  He didn't come back."  Caleb smiles at Jack.  "Any of this coming back to you?  Those two or three hours you can't account for?  C'mon, Jack.  You remember.  You've just been trying so hard to forget."

The flashback then plays out on the screen as Caleb narrates. "I was watching you gather the wood for your fire.  I stepped up to introduce myself.  I was hungry."  We see Caleb standing still,
staring, his expression intent, eyes cold with predatory focus.  We see Jack begin to back away, only to encounter Caleb wherever he turned. "I was everywhere," Caleb continues.  "You tried to run but. . . you couldn't escape me."
