"Your . . . " Gabby pauses. "We're twins," Caleb says with loathing. "I just. . . I wish I could drain every drop of his blood right now, just get rid of him once and for all." He licks his lips, as if imagining his satisfying revenge. "Well, why can't you?" Gabby asks. |

"You can't feed on your own blood, your own relatives," Caleb tells her, walking away, his hands again limp with disdain and exasperation. "Which brings us back to our original problem--how that little bastard's feeding." "I don't know. I swear, I don't know," Gabby reiterates. "You don't understand," Caleb says, leaning against the mantelpiece. "We want--we want Jack to feel that rumble in his stomach, that hunger in his veins that will bring him to us." "The blood bank," Gabby suddenly remarks. "What?" Caleb asks, beginning to smile as Gabby explains that blood is missing from the hospital and she found Jamal there, no doubt stealing the blood to help feed his friend Jack. By the time she has finished her explanation, Caleb is smirking with delight, his eyes flashing mischievously.

"Good girl," Caleb smiles and walks towards Gabby. "Oh, you are such a good girl," he says fondly as if he were praising a puppy. These words of rather patronizing endearment, murmured so enticingly, seem to promise exquisite caresses. Hearing these words spoken so arousingly by Caleb, we, like Gabby, may long for his tender domination, envisioning sublime ecstasies if only we surrender to his mastery.

"I think you deserve a little reward," Caleb adds. "Would you like to put in a request?" "Surprise me," Gabby sighs as he begins softly touching her neck. "You know what I want."

"To be the one for all time," Caleb taunts her, knowing this is the one request he will never grant. He tantalizes and frustrates her, moving his lips ever closer to her neck, then pulling back. "To belong to you," Gabby says, pouting as he smiles and walks away. "You do, but not as my bride," Caleb teases. "There's already been another chosen. You know that."

"Caleb, I want to be the one," she whines, like a petulant little girl. She touches him, trying to get him to look at her. "Ah, ah, ah," Caleb scolds playfully. "No, no, no. Olivia will be my bride. I'll accept no other. But we'll find something just as satisfying for you."

"Satisfy me," Gabby moans as Caleb kisses her neck. "Umm, uh-uh," Caleb says, once again pulling back, delighting in his power over her. "Business first. First, we have to deal with Jack's little blood-stealing friend Jamal."
