Soap Opera Digest Insider has an article about the Revive Port Charles campaign, featuring the Caleb/Livvie/Michael/Kelly postcard some of us, including myself, sent to soap magazines and ABC executives, so please keep the letters and postcards coming. Here is the excerpt featuring the Revive PC postcards I made and sent:
Leeann Cannon: Some PORT CHARLES fans surfaced this week as we received postcards asking for ABC to get Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco working together again. “Relive the passion; Revive Port Charles!”

I’ve added an article from the new ABC Soaps In Depth (July 12 issue) recommending that Port Charles be resurrected:
http://horrorvacui.us/MichaelEastonCommunity/MichaelEastonFanTributeArticles54.html
The 5-page article, comparing and contrasting Port Charles and Twilight, makes the point that we in the Revive Port Charles campaign have been emphasizing, that, given the popularity of vampire-themed shows, now, more than ever, the time is right for a Port Charles return.
Please show your support for Port Charles by writing to ABC Soaps In Depth and thanking the magazine for this article.

There’s a message on Michael’s site about how to help the Gulf region devastated by the oil spill:

Please donate to one or more of these organizations. I have already donated to the Greater New Orleans Foundation and International Bird Rescue Research Center and regularly donate to the  National Wildlife Federation.Â

ABC/Soapnet is featuring new Webisodes with characters from various soaps interacting in fantasy scenarios. The following is a YouTube clip from one of the upcoming Webisodes, this one with Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco. In the background, if you freeze the frame, you can see an advertisement for Caleb and Livvie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F0ppkkCU6k
The Webisodes will air sometime this summer.Â
To help promote the Revive Port Charles campaign, perhaps we can write to ABC and SoapNet executives thanking them for the Webisode reference to Caleb and Livvie. We can then suggest that Port Charles be revived in some form (night-time series, miniseries, or even a made-for-TV movie) with Michael Easton as Caleb and Kelly Monaco as Livvie, as well as other Port Charles favorites, portrayed by their original actors.

Kudos to “It’s Only My Opinion” columnist Carolyn Hinsey for her
reference to Port Charles in the June 6, 2010 Soap Opera Digest“
Commenting on the One Life to Live teen musical and the current
popularity of vampires, Hinsey writes, “ABC Daytime has been on the
front end of the two biggest crazes, teen glee clubs and vampires.
Sadly, they didn’t stick with the original Edward Cullen: Michael Easton
on PC, No big deal–it’s not like the Twilight series sold over 80million books or anything.”
Please try to keep the Revive Port Charles campaign going–mention Carolyn Hinsey’s comment when submitting
postcards, letters, e-mails, etc. to ABC executives and promote interest in Port Charles by posting about it in
soap opera sites, as well as sites focusing on supernatural TV shows, movies, and fiction.
By the way, in case you have been concerned about the sudden disappearance of Juliet’s beautiful Michael
Easton/Caleb Morley tribute site on MySpace, please be assured that Juliet pledges to re-create that site. It had been hacked
into and deleted, much to the dismay of all those who loved that site, Port Charles, and Caleb. But it, like Caleb, will be
resurrected. It will live again, eternally resplendent.
Keep the faith. Help keep Port Charles alive. Help bring it back to our TV screens, beginning with reruns of Port Charles’ supernatural storylines and perhaps culminating in a revival of the series in the form of a primetime show, miniseries, or TV movie featuring
Caleb, as portrayed by Michael Easton, Livvie, as portrayed by Kelly Monaco, and our other Port Charles favorites, portrayed
by their original actors.
Long live Port Charles!

The following are three projects initiated by Michael Easton fans to celebrate him, his acting and writing, and his birthday:
1. Donating to the American Cancer Society in honor of Michael (http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/TeamACS/TACSFY09National?team_id=586877&pg=team&fr_id=17840&fl=en_US&et=NKElvDm3OSthosVcg2xADw..&s_tafId=508524 )
Join forces with other Michael Easton fans in contributing money to the American Cancer Society and encouraging others to donate.
2. Donating copies of Michael’s Soul Stealer books to libraries: In honor of Michael’s upcoming birthday and to celebrate his writings, Michael Easton fans from various groups have initiated a project that will help boost sales of Michael’s Soul Stealer books, raise awareness of his literary talents, and help libraries. To participate in this project, you can go to Michael’s graphic novel publisher’s site, DMF Comics , purchase a copy of Soul Stealer 1 or 2, and then donate the copy to a library of your choice. When donating the book to the library, please also include professional reviews about Soul Stealer since many libraries will not accept books for inclusion in their collections without a professional review. For a list of professional reviews, see the section *Soul Stealer in the Media* (http://www.michaeleaston.com/soulstealer.html ).
A list of libraries throughout the US and elsewhere is at: http://lists.webjunction.org/libweb/
Â
3. Donating to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance project in honor of Michael’s birthday:
http://www.ovariancancer.org/michaeleaston/
 4. Collaborating on a group project focusing on Michael’s writings and inspirations: Since Michael has inspired us with his writing and his acting, maybe we can try to share with him some of the works (music, art, writings, films, etc.) that remind us of the types of themes and imagery he evokes so brilliantly in his Soul Stealer series, as well as his book of poetry Eighteen Straight Whiskeys. For example, we could include images from works of art, links to Web sites discussing literature and films, and suggest song titles (or even add sound files) that we find darkly illuminating in a way reminiscent of his writings. We could explain why these images, stories, songs, films, etc. remind us of Michael’s works or evoke similar emotions and atmosphere. Last year some of us here participated in a project of this nature, including photos and song files. This year we can do it again, primarily focusing on Michael’s literary works and the influences he has mentioned in the Behind the Scenes part of his official Web site ( http://www.michaeleaston.com/SS_BTS.html ). From now until his birthday, we can post messages, images, songs, and links here related to this project. Then, later, I can mail him a printable copy of these posts, links, etc. You can post your comments, links, here at my blog or on my MySpace Michael Easton Eclectics Salon page ( http://www.myspace.com/michaeleastoneclectics ). (To post on the MySpace page, however, you will need to add it as a Friend.)

Since we are in the midst of the holiday season, now is the time to let ABC-TVÂ know that
they can bring good cheer to all of the devoted Port Charles fans, as well as the fans of vampire-themed shows, by reviving
our dearly beloved, abruptly cancelled Port Charles. Please continue sending postcards and e-mails to the key ABC executives and to the soap magazines, especially ABC Soaps In Depth, which has continued to ignore our campaign even though Soap Opera Weekly and Soap Opera Digest have featured our letters. The December 15 issue of Soap Opera Weekly, in fact, includes another letter in support of a Port Charles revival.
You can send holiday-themed postcards, such as the one above, expressing the wish to have Port Charles return. If you have ideas for our campaign or wish to share postcards and other creations (banners, buttons, t-shirts, etc.) related to the Port Charles revival, please feel free to contact me at akaains@yahoo.com or akaains@horrorvacui.us . Here are my other sites where you can also reach me and/or see updates about the campaign so far:
